How it works
The physics is selective photothermolysis: 808nm light passes through the epidermis with relatively little absorption, then meets melanin concentrated in the hair shaft and follicle. The follicle converts that light to heat faster than it can shed it, and the germinal cells are disabled while surrounding tissue stays within safe limits.
Three settings decide whether that happens comfortably. Energy density runs from 2 to 80 J/cm² across a single handpiece, so fine facial hair and coarse body hair share one platform. Pulse width stretches from 5 to 200ms: shorter for thin hair and light skin, longer to let darker epidermis cool between absorbed energy. Repetition reaches 10Hz for sliding passes over large areas. Throughout, the condenser tip holds the skin surface cold before, during and after each pulse.
